What a way to start the day... After having had wonderful dinner with a lovely couple from the U.K. last night (we "just" met by chance - as if) blood in my stool after dinner. The night I did not have exactly the best rest being a bit worried and today I was supposed to pick up my new friend and partner in our venture at 07:00. I ran late for more than an hour, and had an appointment with Dr. Nesselhut, one of the brilliant physicians treating me in Germany. Phoned while on the way, explained that we are running late and the problems I have had the night before. Begged, pleaded and asked the courrier to wait for my blood to be collected and taken to the lab...
After a heartfelt welcome at the reception of the doctor I was so happy that they had waited for my arrival.
I was led to the room for treatment and both Dr. Nesselhut and Prof. Dr. Osmer dropped by to discuss with me the latest developments and results in order to adjust my treatment-plans. Again and again I am pleasantly surprised by how much time these two doctors take to provide in depth information in an understandable and jovial manner. They both are very busy but the atmosphere is yet very pleasant and comfortable.
I am convinced that not only the methods of the treatments play an important role in the healing but also the general atmosphere and the rapport between doctor and patient.
One thing I would like to out is that I am one of the first people in the world to be treated with NIVOLUMIMAB in conjunction with DENDRITIC CELL THERAPY. These constant innovations and the flexibility with which my treatments are adjusted based on the current requirements have long since ceased to amaze me but have become 'standard' so to speak...
After we finished today's treatments we headed for the city of Goettingen for a Thai massage. I deserved this wonderful massage, enjoyed the relaxation and got even treated for a delicious meal after the massage was finished.
After that we were on our way to Munich, to meet with another specialist for ketogenic nutrition and the immune system, but that will be another story...
