Once upon a time. This is an unbeleivable story, the rest of the blog true.
A man with cancer spent all of his money staying alive becuase life is so wonderful.
After many difficult journeys to mythical healing places, his illness improves but returns.
When all his money was gone, when his friends looked after him and gave him so much kindness and support and charity. His friends also include doctors.
Well he realised that now he must make more money, very effectively, now his life, his miracle did not depend on the medicine, but on the money to access the medicine and go on these fantastic journeys. And believe me they are fantastic. the people, the place, the kindnesses, the beauty of god everywhere is what drives his survival.
So his friends help as much as possible, the mans business is running very well. he asks the government to consider assisting him, they are interested in overseas miracles. they pay if the miracle is spectacular enough.
well today this man met another man who is going to arrange 1000000 dollars, that itself a miracle, another story.
the man begged a very very rich big bank, for a redraw of money they took without knowledge or consent. the bank gave the man 100000 in a few days after asking based on his urgent plans for his next mythical epic journey.
but as with so many things in life, easy come, easy go. so the life saving money comes in to the mans bank, but the mans wife takes it for herself without a word.
so the man is up very late making money, to stay alive, and his story continues, he contemplates the challenges of life, of wife and this illness. this could not be true ? could it.
I saw the man tonight, he was still smiling. Life is good.

this wonderful article talks about acceptance, illness is a part of our life, dealing wisely , peacefully but appropriately with the events of life, the behaviours of wife. After all its just money, somewhere in the bible, if a thief takes some clothes, give him your blanket. in the same vain, forgiveness and the yoga values of detachment have saved the day.
It was a father and son day today, we did putt golf, then walked to the ten pin bowling alley, then picked his favourite movie how to train your dragon, had his favourite meal. he is 9, we walked and held hands.
He has what he wants, my time.
My daughter went to her best friends sleepover, which she loves. in a taxi, because my wife want allow my to register my car. so i walk and do taxis.
My wife has her money and her freedom, without any hassles from me.
And I have life, it is all very very good, and tomorrow is another day.

And think of one thing, for most spouses of the terminally ill they suffer loss and grieve and get on with life, in our case with my 7th trip to germany imminent, well I can see the uncertainty and anxiety.
I do believe that we are surfers. We ride the wave that life presents. The answer is knowledge of that extraordinary gift and in the love we share with family and community. It is Love that makes us immortal.
