So I expected the family to leavea on the 10th of May, Ellie checked her tickets and oops, its says she was supposed to leave the 29th April. Now Japanese airlines worked out after charging me $750 in date change fees. No service or help from flight centre whatsoever.
I believe they made a mistake, they certainly did not help with the resolution at all. A full service travel agent, well I am questioning the value for money in this situation and the lack of service. I spent hours on the phone as directed by flight centre. I missed out on valuable sleep. I am the one fighting cancer and these guys would not help one bit a family stranded in Germany.
The lady from Japanese Airlines was wonderful, she proposed reasonable date change fees, which I gratefully accepted. Ellie and the kids were stressed. I was kind of looking forward to having them stay, but I know in my heart getting them home around the 10th may is key. Melanie has her confirmation and I have my conference on immunotherapies on the 13-16th.
Ellie and the kids now arrive home 12th MAy 7.05am, we have all had extra stress due to the flight centre mistake / misunderstanding. At the moment I have paid out an extra $750 aud to get the family home and to minimise any further stress. Certainty and being organised are undervalued.
I did not expect to have to micro manage my wife flight details but I guess thats what I should have or need to do. The effect of the stress of my diagnosis on her and the level of dysfunction are clear. At leatst this problem is fixed. I hope flight centre at least cover the costs I was charged due to their mistake. Granted my wife should have checked the details. But this was not possible the printer was broken the day we booked and paid for the flight. the tickets were picked up a few days later enroute to the airport, so detailed checking was not a priority, geting to the flight

So I called flight center emergency number, they said try the manager. Even the emergency number would not follow up my problem, this is really poor service from flight center. I could not imagine a more serious problem than having your family stuck in Germany.

EMAIL FLIGHT CENTER SYLVANIA
I am writing to report a problem with the tickets you issued to my wife.
They have a return 29april, when on the phone we discussed my wife leaving 10th april coming back the 10th may.
I called your office yesterday see if the error could be corrected, and was advised that it could not be rebooked. I was told to tryqantas. I spent 3 hours on hold to qantas and was then told the ticket is a Japanese Airlines Ticket.
I called Japanese Airlines, they said they need the actual ticket number.
I called the FLIGHTCENTRE after hours and they said they could not help but suggested I contact you.
I point out that I have used your office and flight center may times before, my family travels extensively.
I have been away in Germany for 7 months treatment for what classed as terminal inoperable metastatic colorectal cancer.
My family was visiting me for the first time and my wife has been ill as well from the pressure associated with my cancer diagnosis.
I am not sure how this mistake has occured, but I am seeking your assitance to recifiy it. My family is now stuck over and we have paid for a return ticket coming home on 10th may sydney frankfurt sydney.
Please help fix this problem, your assistance is gratefully appreciated. I am still staying in Germany for further treatments and managing our family budget is essential to my survival.
